Bios of Principals
Artistic Director, Chorus – Phillip Stephen Drozda
Phil has a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Music from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is currently the Choir Director and Music Exploratory teacher at Mesa Middle School in the Douglas County School District. He has been a performer, composer/arranger and musical director of a number of current groups in the Denver/Boulder/Castle Rock area. His experience is exceeded only by his enthusiasm for music, the choral arts and working with young adults. His responsibilities include conducting weekly rehearsals, choral training programs, concert programming and music selection, oversight of the DCCC staff as well as regular attendance at board meetings.
Artistic Director, Cherubs – Leslie Christensen
Leslie has both a B.A. in music education and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. Leslie's musical background is in piano and flute performance, however, she now spends most of her time with her greatest treasures, Cole and Kennedi, both of whom sing in the Douglas County Children's and Cherub Chorus, and her husband Jim, the superintendent of Douglas County Schools.
